Students
Students and recent graduates 18 years of age and older at any 2 or 4-year academic institutions of higher education are encouraged to apply. Graduate students are welcome. If accepted, you will be asked to provide a fully refundable deposit of $25* to secure your position on the expedition for which you are selected. The deposit will be returned to you upon your arrival for the start of the expedition. There is no cost to current students or recent graduates (within 1 year of graduation).
* If the deposit poses a financial hardship, please inform our Volunteer Coordinator during the interview.
Supervisory Scientists
If you are a scientist with field experience in an environmental science-related discipline, we would welcome your application to serve as a Supervisory Scientist on our expeditions. You will oversee field data collection in your area of expertise in accordance with our established procedures and instruct students in proper scientific technique, including note-taking, GPS use, and field methodology. First Aid/CPR/WFR Certification are helpful but not necessary. You will serve in a volunteer capacity, and we will provide an official staff shirt and transportation to the field research site (if needed), and all meals during the expedition.
